What is " Hotori"?
" Hotori” is an ambiguous and extremely Japanese specific term that refers to the area near where the surface of water and land touch. The boundary changes every second with the wind and ebb and flow of the tide. Therefore,“ Hotori ” is actually a vague term. That is why the boundary should be blurred or mixed. When you realize it, you should be exhausted.
But in truth, everything has an indivisible ambiguity, just like the “Hotori”.
If you're tired of the dichotomies in your daily lives, let's take a rest here.
We'd like to value "ambiguity"
Our vision
Through providing a third place, We realize a society where people can enjoy ambiguity, something usual and small favorites
A third place is a third place that is not the workplace, home, school, hospital, etc. We believe that providing such a kind of escape and playground is a philosophical value attached to entertainment. We hope to share the ambiguous and daily happiness of “I don't know the reason, but I like it” with many people at such a third place.
